Step into the wild beauty of the North Carolina mountains for a transformative therapeutic experience. This 5-day backpacking and fly fishing intensive is designed for individuals seeking deep healing from past trauma and emotional wounds. Combining the calming rhythms of nature with powerful EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, participants will engage in daily guided sessions while immersed in the quiet strength of the wilderness.
As you hike, cast lines into mountain streams, and sit beneath the trees, you'll be supported in gently accessing and processing painful memories, stuck beliefs, and unresolved emotional patterns. Each moment in nature becomes part of the healing process—grounding, clarifying, and restorative.
This unique journey invites you to reconnect with your inner self, find peace, and return home with greater freedom, clarity, and strength.

Initial Intake Session – In Person or Online
Your journey begins with a 100-minute intake session, available either in person or online, designed to lay the groundwork for meaningful, effective therapeutic work. In this extended session, we’ll take time to explore your personal history, current challenges, and what’s drawing you to this intensive experience. We’ll also discuss your goals for the trip and begin identifying areas of focus for EMDR therapy.
Beyond the clinical work, we’ll cover all logistical details—what to expect on the trail or at the stream, how to prepare mentally and physically, and how to ensure your safety and comfort throughout the experience. This session is a chance to begin building trust and clarity, so you can step into the mountains with a sense of confidence and readiness.

Hiking & Fly Fishing: Movement and Healing in Nature
Each day on the trail includes 4–5 hours of guided hiking through the serene beauty of the North Carolina mountains. The physical movement of hiking—steady, rhythmic, and grounding—supports the nervous system and helps prepare the body and mind for deeper therapeutic work.
You’ll also engage in approximately 6 hours of therapy daily, much of which takes place while fly fishing alongside mountain streams. These sessions are structured to incorporate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), using the rhythm and focus of fly fishing as a powerful anchor for trauma processing. The calming presence of water and movement provides a natural setting for emotional regulation, insight, and release.
Whether you're hiking under the canopy of trees or casting a line into a quiet stream, each moment is intentionally designed to create space for healing, clarity, and reconnection with yourself.
